Duda earned a degree in business administration in 1998 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He then went to the states and earned an MBA from Harvard University. Melzer joined the franchising and financial market before he joined RBS. He founded the franchise Sweet Sweet Way, and he was a senior analyst for Delphi Corporation. Melzer also was the Chief Executive Officer for Box Top Media. Box-Top Media is a New York-based non-traditional media company. Duda also worked as a consultant before he joined the family business.
Melzer joined RBS in 2004 as the Director of the National Marketing, and in 2010 he was promoted to Executive Vice-President of business development for the RBS Group. In 2012, Duda was named Executive Chairman of the Group. His uncle, Nelson Pacheco Sirotsky, held that position before Duda took over. Then in 2016, Melzer was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as President and the CEO of RBS.
Mr. Melzer is a member of the board of the Services Associations of Rio Grande, and a member of the Ethical Counsel. Duda often goes on the lecture circuit and promotes the World Association of Newspapers and Publishers.
