Andy Wirth Is Leading the Way to Appreciation of Nature
These days people are often finding themselves looking at the natural world with a sense of longing. The majority of people out there want to jump out into the world and explore nature’s wonders. But the majority of people are also unsure of just how to start. That’s what makes people like Andy Wirth so important.
Locals know Wirth as the CEO of Squaw Valley Ski. He’s made a big name for himself not for making any kind of huge and ostentatious display. But rather the exact opposite. He’s been able to create enhanced infrastructure that brings the entire region together in a subtle and beautiful way. It’s not often that someone can both increase access to natural areas and protect the natural wonder which is the real draw. But Andy Wirth has consistently done with with Squaw Valley Ski.
And this is why it should be exciting for everyone to hear that he’s recently been appointed chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board. The reasons might not seem apparent at first. But it all ties in to the healthy love and respect that Wirth has demonstrated toward the natural world in general. But it also relates to his specific love for the nature located locally. The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board is highly focused on simply helping people make the trek from their home to the local wonders that can be found in the area. One of the biggest parts of the their mission is simply making people aware of everything that can be found there. The many exciting opportunities to relax while gazing at a beautiful skyline. Or the chance to sit back on a chilly winter day to sip hot cocoa in between rapidly skiing down the slopes.
It’s also obvious that his infectious enthusiasm should be enough to get people off of the couch and into the nearby natural wonders. Because he’s not just known to locals. Andy Wirth recently made headlines for springing back from a serious injury to participate in the IRONMAN 70.3 at Lake Tahoe. His injuries would have kept a lot of people down.
But he loves being active in nature so much that he pushed himself not only to a full recovery, but to a new level of physical excellence. And it’s obvious that he should be able to inspire people in the same way to come and explore the natural wonders that he loves so much.
